| I'm from Australia and Stewie is from England. We met on September 19th in yahoo chat so yeah I owe my life to yahoo well done.I was in a UK chat room chatting away to another English guy then I saw Stewie enter. Stewie said hi room and I said hello back because I know what it's like when no-one says hi. Anyways we started chatting in the room. He was such a gentleman, he asked if he could PM me (Private Message) so i said sure. Wow I couldn't believe how much we had in common. We chatted for hours, even saw each other's picture's on our profiles we had on yahoo. |
| ||||||
| We even added each other to our buddy list. Well we finally found the courage to log off and get some sleep. The next day I logged on to catch up but he wasn't online *sad face*. He wasn't online for at least a few weeks and they were the worse weeks of my life. I constantly thought about him every minute of every day and thought to myself "right when he logs on next I just have to tell him how I feel. I was totally scared of losing a wonderful friendship but I knew somehow he was my soul mate. I logged on one day to find Stewie online. We both PM'd each other and I finally came out and told him how I felt. To my surprise, he felt the same! I can't tell you how wonderful I felt. We now speak on the phone all the time like 8hr conversations every time and we find it so hard to hang up. We chat online every day and spend over 10hrs online together. Yes we have had our ups and downs like all couples, only because of the 9,000 miles we are apart from each other it hurt likes hell not being with the one you love. Today after 15 months of knowing Stewie we are still together. We haven't met in person yet due to financial difficulties, but I do know in my heart that one day we will be together. Stewie is my life, my world, my lover, my soul mate all rolled into one. I have never met a guy like Stewie before. He's the most wonderful thing that has happened to me since my marriage failed. I also have a beautiful 5yr old son and the best part about all this is Stewie loves me and my son. We both can't wait to meet Stew. If you see this website hun, I just want to say that I love you to death, I miss you like crazy and I want to dedicate this song to you - you know who sings it - it's our love song. Love you baby... I LOVE YOU I must be crazy now Maybe i dream too much But when i think of you I long to feel your touch To whisper in your ear Words that are old as time Words only you would hear If only you were mine I wish i could go back To the very first day i saw you Should've made my move When you looked in my eyes 'Cause by now i know that You'd feel the way that i do And you'd whisper these words As you lie here by my side I love you, please say you love me too These three words, they could Change our lives forever And i promise you that we Will always be together 'Til the end of time So today i finally find the courage Deep inside Just to walk right up to your door But my body can't move When i finally get to it Like a thousand times before Then without a word You handed me this letter Read i hope this finds the way Into your heart, it said I love you, please say you love me too 'Til the end of time Well maybe i, i need a little love Maybe i, i need a little care Maybe you, maybe you need somebody Just to hold you If you do, just reach out, i'll be there I will be your light, shining through your eyes I LOVE YOU STEWART WITH ALL MY HEART BODY AND SOUL | |||||||

Tammy & Stewie
Michael & Mulan Love
| I signed up on this website called tagged because my friends kept bugging me to enter and sign up. So I was bored like somewhat in Nov 20 or something and I got in it. I did my profile and soon I became to realize the site was pretty cool. I posted up my interests and my hobbies and blah blah you know those kinds of things. Time passed by and I got kinda annoyed by the website because it got old to me. So I later found out it had a chat place in there, I logged in and started to chat for my very first time in that website. I didn’t know what to expect, I knew it was going to be fun messing around with people but I never realized that that first time chatting in there I will met the love of my life. |
| ||||||
| I started to mess with people and some people messed with me, so I need help and there was my Mulan she came out of no where and we teamed up to defend each other from them. We just came out with the silliest things ever lol ;) and I then added her to my friends or buddy page (whatever it’s called). We then started to send messages thru that website, we really got along. It’s like the first time we chatted I had this little feeling inside me like if I was a little kid having a crush on the pretty girl of the class lol. We just messed around and I exactly remember the say we met, it was on Dec 10th. Few weeks later (more like a week later lol) she asked for my yahoo messenger ID so I gave it to her and right there and then we hit if off real good. I don’t remember the exact date in which we chatted on yahoo messenger but it was the longest chat I have ever had. We chatted for 9 HOURS and since she lives in Cali. the time zone is different. I remember going to sleep like at 6am I think because it was sooooo much fun talking to her. Out of those 9 hours I never got bored of talking to her. I later realized -hey why in the blue hell will I stay up that late and chat with a girl I have never even met before and that I barely even know but yet why do I have this crazy feeling inside me? Yep that’s what I kind of didn’t understand. But yet I knew her for about 2 weeks and I felt like I have known her forever. Time passed and it was around Jan 5 I think. Well any who we emailed each other every single day, long emails that consisted of like 10paragraphs of just saying how our day was and sharing thoughts and feelings. I wouldn’t say she was exactly and open person, she was very conservative and it did kinda bug me a little because I wanted to know more about her and her life and family and just everything about her I wanted to know. I later got over the conservative thing because I understood that well she barely knew me and she has every right in the world to be secretive and not tell me everything. That later got fixed but lets cont with the story. I got to know a lot about her (not the stupid simple things I mean like things she felt and thought of ha-ha which I will not reveal because its too personal only for me and her to know ^_^ lol) well and what shocked me the most was that we had the same Birthday me and my sweet Mulan were from Nov 28 !! And they both tell us "get out of lala land". Its crazy I know, but in that time I knew I loved her before I knew her. I was like virtually obsessed with her; I couldn’t get enough of her. I wanted to know everything and just wanted to talk to her 24/7. I confessed what I felt about her to my cousin, and he told me it was all cool and that lots of people fall in love thru the net. And I knew my feelings and it was not love heck I was like SOOOO CRAZY FOR HER...I LOVE HER. Then we really couldn’t get enough of each other because she emailed me everyday and message me to my phone every day and night. I was really happy because she made me feel loved and wanted, but I really didn’t think she had the same feelings for me. The first time we talked was on March 4th, I remember because it was my little cousin’s birthday. We talked for about 30 min (it really felt like 5 min) I made her laugh and did the best impression on her because lol I stuttered a lot and I was really nervous and scared lol. Heck my hands were shaking and my whole stomach was going nuts on me lol. She told me to call her at 12pm (I’m in Texas) over here which is 10am over there. She had to hang up so we did and then I really missed her after that. I had my head down and really felt like I hit rock bottom. The next day we talked and we talked for about 2 hours (well I’m not a phone person and either is her, so to us 2 hours were a lot) she was using her big sisters phone and me my phone. Then all of a sudden WHAM the line got cut off, I thought it was the signal so I went outside hoping I got it back and I called her again and again but she never picked up. After an hour of trying I was certain something happened and I just went back to my room all heart broken. It killed me at first because we were having sooo much fun talking but then we got cut off. This is kind of awkward but I started to cry because of the terrible sad feeling I had inside me. I later got over it and she emailed me telling me the line got cut off because her phone died and she didn’t know what was the lil' beeping noise (see told you we don’t know much about phones lol) so that’s why the line got cut off. We still talked and talked any time we can, and always take the advantage. It was some where around March because I had to go to Mexico for my 3 month visit for my braces. Well I remember it still because in those 2 days I was away it hurt me because I missed her soooo much. I also bought her some gifts like a necklace and some angel statues and things that I thought she might like. We came back and she gave me her house address so I sent her a package containing some gifts and a notebook of poems I did for her (one of those poems will be published in a book.. thanks for the love she gave me I started to make poems and I still do them). In this time she was very open to me but not all because ha-ha she never told me "I love you" because I didn't think she had the same feelings for me. I then couldn’t take it no more so then one night I was Txting her with my phone and she was just about to go to sleep and she said..."I do know my feelings, I love you" (I know not the best way to tell someone I love you but I guess she couldn’t take it no more and I swear to god I was gonna confess to her what I felt about her the next day but she beat me to it). I just gazed at the lil' cell phone screen amazed and full of love inside of me. I txted her back saying..."I love you too" but she didn’t read it till morning. The next day I told her everything and she did too. I was soooo happy to know she loves me and that she has the same feelings as I have for her. Then May 27 was a day I will never forget. We talked and talked and guess for how long?? we talked for 11HOURS on the phone man that was the best thing ever...oh and I forgot to mention we shared everything absolutely everything and there’s some stuff I cant tell you because its real personal but we shared everything to each other and I have never trusted someone soo much but her. She tells me things like personal things and I do too. I have never felt soooo wanted and loved in my life. My love for her is sooo strong and it had beaten lots of obstacles, with her I felt feelings I have never ever experienced or thought they existed. She’s my first love and even though we're young we both know what we want and we both wanna spend our whole lives together and forever. This is my story so far, and I'm fixing to go visit her in a couple of months (11months) because I’m going with her to her prom and I just can’t wait for the day I meet her. We both love each other very much and we both know we won’t stop loving each other till our time comes. I will submit more of my story later as it progresses. And I will give you the whole story the complete story when we're finally together. | |||||||
Marcia & Jeremy's
| He sent me a whisper that simply said "why did you choose Twilightmama for your name"? We laugh about it now, but it was that simple question with no sexual innuendo, that prompted me to answer him. From there we exchanged email addresses, etc. and continued talking on MSN Messenger. From the moment this man first made contact with me, I felt something special, I knew it was the beginning of something beautiful and unique. We had so much in common that it was sometimes scary. We found it amazing that two people, from the opposite sides of the world, from completely different cultures could share the same beliefs and thought processes. |
| |||||
| But best of all I knew he was the one for me, because he understood my quirky sense of humor, and better still, he laughed with me. From there over the months we developed a better understanding of each other, and our love for each other grew. Jeremy was able to tell me "I love you" a lot sooner that I was. I had been burnt from a previous long term relationship and was quite happy to sit on the sidelines for awhile. I certainly didn't expect for love to coming 'knocking on my computer screen'. Finally there was no denying my love for him - and I told him exactly what he meant to me, and how he affects my life in so many positive ways. To conclude, I told him that "I loved him". I made my first trip to Montana, USA on May 29th 2004. It was a very long journey (30+ hours). By the time I walked into the arrival area of the airport, I had a combination of tiredness, nerves and hungriness going on. I saw Jeremy from the top of the escalator. I managed to position myself between two fairly tall men, so I was obscured on the way down. I stepped off the escalator, walked through the glass sliding doors, and stepped in front of Jeremy and said "hello" (I had obsessed for hours before on the journey of something meaningful, or even something funny to say) I had it all worked out in my head - but when the moment of being there face to face arrived, I was lost for words...the best I could manage was a pathetic "hello" in a volume no better than a field mouse squeaking. There he was - standing there amongst hundreds of people, with a dozen pink roses. We laugh about it now, because his reaction was no better - his first words to me were "Your so brown", I said "Yes, what do you expect I'm from a Pacific Island"? He told me I was beautiful, and far surpassed his expectations. We kissed, and he wrapped his big strong arms around me...I don't remember walking to the baggage claim area, and I don't remember the airport surroundings, or that there were even other people around. At that very moment, time had stood still, and I was realizing the reality of all my dreams. Jeremy took me to a wonderful Hotel, and we shared a beautiful evening together finally in each other's company. I spent 3 months with Jeremy and his family in Montana, during which time we got engaged then I flew back to New Zealand. I returned for another 3 month visit to Montana, then had to leave to go back to New Zealand again. This time it wasn't so sad because Jeremy flew back to New Zealand with me to meet my family - they loved him!. We stayed in New Zealand for one week, then flew back with my 8 year old daughter to Montana. Jeremy and I got married on April 1st 2005 (April Fools Day) we thought it was fitting, cause we're two fools who are just madly, passionately in love. We're in the process of establishing permenent residency status for my daughter and I at the moment. | ||||||

Wavey And Puddle".
| I didn't really have any particular reason I just enjoyed talking to people from around the world and I was bored with watching TV. This night I was in Chatzone, as it seem to have the most people in it I was typing away way and then up flashed a msg box, with a person called Wavey saying " Wavey steps in Puddle". This got my attention and we chatted for awhile, at this time it didn't mean anything to me, he was just another person. But that gradually change as every time I came on he also seemed to be on and so we chatted and then we starting talking on the phone and then in March last year I met him for the first time in NSW Australia, I live in QLD Australia, a whole huge State away. |
| ||||||
| So on to the plane I went , nervous that i was going to meet him, yet I knew before I met him that it was going to be alright and that there was something special there. Over the year we saw each other when ever possible. He then left for overseas and the long distance between us started to get me down, but in November last year I met him in Europe and we travelled for 2 mths, a big test of our relationship, the longest we had ever been together. Well it all worked out and today he is living in the same city as me, and our relationship is growing and growing. | |||||||
Scott & Jessica
| They would often talk on msn messenger and the webcam chat client; 'Eyeball' till all hours off the morning; just getting to know each other even though Jess had school in the morning. They were both growing very fond of each other; falling more and more in love each and everyday that they talked; but neither of them knew how to tell the other. One night at about 1am (NZ time) Jess couldn't contain herself any longer and blurted out 'I have fallen in love with you' Scott looked at the message and was shocked but at the some time glad that he knew how she truly felt about him. For the rest of the night Scott put off telling Jess how he felt about her in fear that she was just joking around and didn't truly mean what he read on the screen. |
| |||||
| It took two days of not mentioning what Jess had said to him until he was ready to confess his feelings for Jess. In October 2002 two days after the confession of Jess; Scott also confessed his feelings of undying love to her. Scott & Jess both knew they had to meet in person eventually and so proceeded to make plans for too meet. As Scott was un-employed and had little savings; and with Jess in her last year of high school; with no savings, this was going to be an impossible mission. They both settled on a date to meet in the USA which was March 17th 2003 five months down the track; which would give them plenty of time to save money and develop the relationship further. Scott looked desperately for a job but could not find one that would pay enough in 5 months for him to make it to see Jess & so they came up with another plan. The plan was to get a loan from the bank but with Scott being un-employed and having little savings this was yet another road block but being the optimistic couple they were and still are; they didn't give up. Scott being very optimistic booked a plane ticket to get himself to Los Angeles on March 17th 2003, he booked the ticket with 9 weeks to go till the plane would leave the airport; even though he didn't have the money to pay for the ticket. Scott in the end managed to get a small loan from a family member and landed himself a job that would give him 7 weeks of savings. Scott & Jess met in Sacramento California March 22nd 2003; even though Scott landed on US soil on the 17th of March, Scott was staying in Santa Barbara with Jess's best friend's family from the 17th of March till the 22nd because it was Jess's friends family who was driving to Sacramento with Scott for the two of them to meet. Scott stayed in USA with Jess for 3 months then took a plane to London UK and spending 5 days there before coming back to the US because he needed his Visa Waiver renewed and to do that; he had to be out of USA for 48 hours. Scott left Jessica after another 3 months to go back home to New Zealand to start saving to bring Jessica to New Zealand to live; Scott got a full time job within the first two days of arriving back home. With Jessica and Scott both working full time; but in separate countries; it was only a matter of time before they were reunited again. On the 31st of December 2003 Jessica and Scott were reunited in Dunedin Airport, New Zealand. Scott & Jessica were married 9th July 2005 surrounded by family and friends in New Zealand. Unfortunately Jessica's family were unable to make the event but were supporting us emotionally; at the time of marriage Scott was 20 and Jessica was 19. Scott and Jessica immigrated to the USA to live in Reno, Nevada in October 2005 and are still there loving every minute of it. Scott has a job as a computer salesman/ Tech and Jessica has just started work as an apprentice electrician. | ||||||
Ben & Carissa
At 19, I was living on my own and in college so I guess you may not know my reason for thinking that I would never find my prince?
| Well I am in a wheelchair and unable at this point to drive. So after I moved out because I felt lonely I used the computer to find friends and just people to talk to. Another thing I liked was that the chair was never an issue. So needless to say I quickly became hooked. It was in February that I met Ben in a chat room. By this time I had became a regular in a MSN chat room called the secret garden, but it was quiet in there and I got bored that day so I decided to go explore. I found a chat room called Do dreams come true? and thought the name was interesting so I went in. It was there that I found "bert". |
| |||||
| His chat nic interested me. I don’t really know why… now I just chalk it up to fate. We talked for awhile and then decided to add each other to messenger. Another thing I think was fate was recently Ben told me that he only start chatting weeks before. On messenger we talk on and off about any really. There were times we flirted too but nothing went more then friends. Part of the reason for that was that in April I met and got involved with a guy online named Jimmy. Really at the time I thought Ben got bored talking with me, and Jimmy showed an interest, so because of my chats with Jimmy my chats with Ben stopped. As the summer went on problems between Jimmy and I started. He would promise to email and wouldn't. He would want to chat and then I would wait online and he wouldn't be there. I would phone Jimmy and the phone bills got more then I could afford. He promised to come and the date kept getting pushed back. He was becoming a person I didn’t think he was. This was very upsetting to me because I shared so much of myself with him. Opening up to people is not any easy thing for me to do, so the more I thought of what I was sharing with him, all I was putting into this, and what it looked like I was getting in return, then more angry I became. I almost decided to give up chatting all together. While waiting to chat with Jimmy at times I started to talk to Ben again. Only this time it wasn't just small talk and I have to admit now these different talks with Ben are one of the things that kept me online. We talked about hopes, dreams, goals we had, and the conversations got deep at times. I also would tell him about things with Jimmy and he would just listen not judging Jimmy or me at all. There are certain things that stick out in my mind that helped me realize I felt more for Ben the just a friend. One of these happened during a chat Ben had with me. I remember we were talking and he told me that he found the greatest girl ever, told me that it was someone that lived far off, and asked me if it was possible. I thought at first he was talking about me, until he told me that it was a girl he visited in Taiwan on holiday. I had no right to but I was jealous and let down. For the first I felt as if I wanted to be the one in Ben’s life. I needed and came to depend on this person at a time in life when I was so confused and felt alone. Being the thick headed person I am, my confusion only got worse when I decided to ignore what I felt. I was supposed to be with someone else and maybe if I only tried harder to make that work that the problems would go away. I even started calling Jimmy because it seemed to be the only time we would talk. The phone call over the month cleaned out my savings and once it did, I was right back where I started: still barely any communication with Jimmy and still the same feelings for Ben which I was trying to convince my self I was crazy for. Those problems combine with others and home, including an accident that left my brother in the ICU, and my goal of walking, I felt like I was falling apart Ben still chatting with was there through all that. At the time he had no idea how much he was helping a person who thought she was dying inside. I was trying to hide it from people around me and everything I felt inside was tearing me apart. I thought about giving up the internet and if it wasn’t for my talks with Ben and crying sessions with another friend I probably would have. Things were over with Jimmy although you couldn’t get me to admit that, nor would I admit my feelings for Ben, because I refused to open myself up again to someone like that and have them hurt me. Then one night I had another one of my crying sessions my online friend “Null” but this time over the phone. He called because he said it was high time I opened open and let out all I had built inside. He told me that he wasn’t hanging up the phone until I did that I cried telling how I wanted to know where I went wrong with Jimmy, that I would never have love the way it was meant to be, and what I felt now for Ben. He told me if that he had a feeling what happened with Jimmy and I didn’t. He told me that Ben seemed to be there for me and really seemed to care. Then he told me that to be happy sometimes you have to close a door on things to see a window God has placed for you. He felt Ben was that window but I had to drop Jimmy to that, I had to be willing to open up or I would never get what I truly want, and in my heart I knew that was Ben. I also write to sort out my feelings. So I turned to my poetry for an outlet too with things like these: Thoughts at a Crossroads She hangs up the phone And wipes away the tears. She wanted him to be there To calm all her fears. She picks up his picture That is sitting on her desk. The pain becomes more real As she holds it to her chest. She asks herself “Why? He let me down again. All I wanted in the world Was just to talk to him.” She thinks about the commitment She made to him from the start, And how she felt the day She gave him her heart. He made her very happy. He promised to love her forever, And no matter what happened That they will be together. She began to think about Sacrifices for him she has made, And what she has done In order to be with him one day. Her family disapproved of him Those she had her heart set. They said it’s impossible To love someone you’ve never met. She didn’t care. She believed what he said. And now only broken promises Keep going though her head. Then in an instant Her mind drifts away. To someone else she has met Who seems to make her day. Whenever she needs someone He always seemed to be there. To make here laugh or just listen. She knew that he seemed to care. He started as a good friend. Now there is something more, Because what they defined as friendship Is now different then before. He still confessed the feelings he has Knowing that she loves another. His words now echo in her mind: “Why can’t we be together?” She thinks about his words And the smiles that they bring. She knows that there is something new Tugging at her heart’s strings. She thinks out loud once more “Is this suppose to be? I know that there are feeling here But is it fair asking that he wait on me?” Then her thoughts go back again To the one she is with now, And she wonders if these new feelings Are unfair to him some how. He doesn’t even know there is a chance Her heart could be stolen away, And how there is a risk He might lose her one day. Still she has to wonder About the choices she has made. She wants to be happy So can things go on this way? Her heart is at a crossroads And she wonders what to do. Should she keep the promise she made Or seek a life with someone new? The Impossible Possible I must be caught up in a fairy tale, Or one glorious dream. How else could so much be felt Only staring a screen? I look at how far apart we are and think “impossible.” And yet my heart must still have wings Because it found its way to yours. Are feelings blind to impossible things? I am unsure what will happen next, And unsure what to make of it all. But I do know how happy you make me now, And there was something special in you that I saw. I know that I think of you by day, And dream of what could be at night. There’s a smile on my face because of you And everything about it all seems to be right. There are times when I find myself thinking. If I can only read your mind Would thoughts and dreams of me be there? Would that be what I’d find? Other times I wish you were here now So I could show you how I feel. Because no matter how fast or crazy this is I hope and believe it has to be real. How amazing this could be if it works, But who knows what tomorrow will bring I do know if I was asked this second what I want My answer would be you it seems. You know that I have been hurt in the past So lets just take it one day at a time, Follow what we think and feel at the moment And see from that what we find. I can’t tell you what will happen next When we travel down that road. But just making the impossible possible Sounds like the greatest love story ever told. Then I guess it was September (by then we talked daily and that isn’t easy with a 6 hour time difference) when Ben told me that that we had be come very close friends, he really liked me, and he hoped to meet me one day in person. I didn’t put much faith in us ever meeting either. Anybody can say that and I had learned that. Well awhile before that, we were joking around one day and I had given him my number. Every once in a while I would joke with him, “So when you going to call?” never thinking he would, and he never did until not long after he said he liked me. So not only did we chat but also by phone when he called. God I remember one time he stayed on the phone with me of 2 hours, that is not as long as we chat usually, but I am sure not a cheap call. Then first week of October he told me he had the plane tickets to come see me and he would be here November 3rd. I have to say it that shocked the hell out of me. He could tell I was hesitant and asked me several times if this was ok. I told him yeah through, and made plans for my sister to pick him up at the bus station and my friend Melissa to stay with me originally. All of this because my mom and others were going to think I was nuts for letting a guy stay with me who I have never met in person before and in a way I knew they would have a point. None of this shocked me as bad as a phone conversation we had about a week before he was suppose to fly over. We were talking and laughing. I don’t even remember what was said, but I do remember what can out of my mouth after, “Ben you know I love you to death.” Well I liked to have hit the floor because I told him that and it just came out. But I swear that if I weren’t in this chair I would have hit the floor after what he said to me. “Really?… Well Carrissa, you know I really do think I love you too.” That was followed by weird silence from both of us. I guess because we both knew we had just crossed a line. The next time I talked to Ben on the phone was when he was in Chicago. He called to tell me that he had missed his connecting flight because it took him 2 hours to get though immigration, he had to get another flight, and he would be at the bus station 7am Sunday. That is when I first thought he was actually serious. My friend didn’t end up staying at all, but my stepsister said she would spend the night with me and she and I went to get him on Sunday. Right before I met him I was so nervous I thought I was going to puke. My sister and I both said I was crazy before he got off the bus. Later he said he felt the same. We had I swear about 20 or so people call or come by that day. But there were a few minutes that day where my sister left to get something at her house and we alone on the couch watching TV. He pulled a stuffed pooh bear out of is bag and gave it to me because he knew I liked pooh. (I sleep with it now.) He took my hand to hold it we started to talk for a bit and he just leaned in and kissed me. Yes it was a tasteful kiss and very sweet. I knew then that he was feeling the same way I was. That kiss also let me let go of all I was fighting and trying to hide where he was concerned. Things he did for me were very sweet. It was his idea to get our picture made. I can also remember a morning where he can in and woke me to tell me the sun was rising and asked if I would go like watch it. He wrapped me in a blanket, carried me outside, held me, and we talked and watch the sun come up. He wasn’t scared to help me at all. In fact he offered many times. He even helped me put on my shoes. (Something That I have trouble with) We could be going some where and he would just take my hand or put his arm around me. Ben went to church with me once. He even went and helped me in therapy. Later he told that he watched how hard I worked and felt proud to be with me. He also liked to tease me a lot to and a couple times we argued but who wouldn’t staying with each other 24/7. The making up was always fun too. He liked it here so much that he called work, took an extra week off and changed his flight so he could stay. We spent thanksgiving with my family. It was his first because they don’t have thanksgiving there. The Tuesday before he left I went to school and he said he was going to take a bus to the mall while I was in class and he would meet me later. That night I was looking at my mail and he went in the bedroom. He came out, told me he had something for me, and dropped a black box in my lap. I opened a necklace with a butterfly charm on it. Butterflies are my other favorite thing besides pooh. There’s so much I can tell you that we did or that was said but I’d be typing all night. The last night he was here we stayed up all night and even took a walk to the church because he wanted to go in. We sat in that church and talked. There was some silence (time that I prayed and I think he did too) and tears from both of us. We went home watched a movie, he packed, then held me while I bawled some. I tried not too because he hated to see me cry, but I couldn’t stop myself. I love him and didn’t him to go. He cried too at one point and said he didn’t want to leave. Then he said he loved me, he swore he would be back, and said the thought he would in May as we talked about before. He even left some things here and swore he’d be back to get them. I wanted give him something then. I knew that when he take my hands he liked to play with my rings, so I took my senior ring off to put it on him and told him he can bring it back to me when he comes. About 20 minutes later mom came and we took him to catch his bus. He didn’t say 2 words in the car on the way there. I just cried. He barely looked at me but later he said he couldn’t watch me cry so he sat there thinking. When the bus pulled up he kissed me, told me he would be back, and said he’d call when he got home. When he got out of the car mom said he hugged her and started to cry. I lost it again as I watch that bus pull away. Mom let me stay until I couldn’t see him or the bus anymore. I bet I cried for a week straight after he left looking around the now empty apartment and remembering all the things felt and shared. My mother and sister both held me like a baby while I cried and sobbed to them saying “I didn’t want him to go.” All they could repeat was “ I am sorry” which didn’t help cus that was what Ben would say to my when he’d hold me while I would cry on him about going back to the computer. I cry when my 2 year old nephew ask where he was because he didn’t understand Ben leaving. That I can say is hardest thing I have ever been through now. We are back to chatting every day religiously now and the occasional phone call that he makes. One of the chats we had since he asked what I was doing for valentine’s day. I said I would like to be talking to him. He asked what I thought about him coming to stay for 2 weeks during then. Of course I loved the idea so he now has bought plane tickets and will be here February 9-23. (30 more days now.) He is still coming back in May too for 3 months if he can work it out, and I am planning to go there in December. Ben has tried to share my love for writing. A poem that he wrote he wrote recently for me tells our story as well: Love on the Internet It all started many months ago with a simple hello We would talk occasionally but just as a friend At the time, who’d have thought it’d turn out as it has Certainly at the moment I can see no end Initially things were slow after that first hello Both of us seemingly unaware of the future So much so we had plans to be with others Then things happened, how I’m not sure We started to talk more and more Sitting there for hours staring at a screen Things were suddenly changing between us But still we struggled to admit our feelings and come clean Secretly we both had had feelings a while Then one day three words changed it all I love you Such meaning for a phrase so small There it was we both knew how we felt Would this be the start of something new Where we were both finally where we felt right Something good, honest and true The time had arrived for us to go further To meet in person, how would it turn out Finally to put a face to your dreams Was it true love, we were about to find out Here we were, together as one Would it be all we had wished Well it didn’t take long for me to find out All it took was the first time we kissed From that first touch I changed forever For I had finally found love I was truly happy, more than ever Because I was with the one I love. | ||||||

What is Unconditional Love Really
Have you ever experienced so much love that just bringing a gleeful smile on your lover’s face makes your day?
Sometimes, the easiest of feelings are the hardest to explain.
And at some other times, it’s easier to see true love by actions than to hear about it through loving words.
Unconditional love is one such emotion that can never really be explained, but can only be experienced in little ways, every day.
Proclamations of love and gifts are overshadowed by the glow of true unconditional love.
Do you think you love someone unconditionally?
What is unconditional love?
Let me tell you a story that happened seven years ago.
There was once a teenage boy who was in love with a teenage girl.
They had been in love for a few years and loved each other a lot. They both lived in the same neighborhood and met each other every evening and spent time together until dinnertime.
Every summer vacation, the girl and her siblings went away for three months to live in her grandparents’ place for the summer.
And the boy, he always ended up missing the girl terribly every time she went away.
One summer, when she went away on her vacation, he really wanted to show her how much he missed her. He decided to give her a diamond ring. He wanted to propose to her.
He walked around town to all the jewelers he could remember. He was only 17, and most jewelers either laughed at him or thought he was fooling around. But he didn’t give up. He learnt to dress smart when he went window shopping so the jewelry stores would take him more seriously.
And finally, a few days of searching later, he found the perfect ring he wanted to buy for his girlfriend. It was a platinum ring with a beautiful clear diamond that shone beautifully. It was the most beautiful thing he had seen. The very second he saw it, he just knew that it was the ring he was looking for. He feigned confidence and casually asked the staff how much it cost. And when he heard that it cost a little over four thousand dollars, his heart sank.
Young boys didn’t earn so much, most parents didn’t earn that much in a month. When his friends heard of his obsession to buy a ring, they thought he was crazy. Most guys would have bought themselves a used car with that sort of money.
The boy didn’t care. He wanted that ring. He could imagine his girlfriend’s happy face when she sees that ring and that’s all he cared about, her smile and her happiness.
He spent the next day calculating his odds. His parents gave him an allowance of fifty dollars a week. In three months, he would have only about six hundred dollars. It was nowhere close to buying any ring. He needed more money, a lot more.
He started looking for summer jobs, and finally found one in a clothing store where he could earn almost seven dollars an hour, and which amounted to about fifty dollars a day five days a week. It was a good start. He didn’t tell his parents about the job, instead they assumed he was at a friend’s place playing games all day.
He calculated his daily savings and realized that he had to reduce his expenditure on lunch and take up a few weekend jobs if he ever had any chance of making the amount of money he needed.
Every now and then, he would go back to the jewelry store and see if the ring was still waiting for him. He even told the staff to keep it aside for him, because he was definitely going to buy the ring soon.
His best friends lazed and had fun all day long, but he gave up all of that to work from dawn to dusk. As he lay down in bed every night, all he could think of was how happy his girlfriend would be to see the ring, and how excited he would be to give it to her. Every night, he was tired after a long day’s work, but he was too excited to ever fall asleep quickly.
Soon, the months rolled on and his hidden stash of secret money also grew a lot. He hardy spend any money on himself the entire summer vacation, and saved almost every penny he could for the dream ring. On some days, he even skipped buying lunch so he could save more money.
And one fine day, a few days before his girlfriend was to return back home, he counted his saving late into the night under a torchlight. He grinned an insuppressible smile. He had earned the money. Almost three months of toiling and starving had paid off!The very next morning, he neatly arranged all his earnings and savings in a bundle and sped to the jewelry store where the staff was waiting for him. They were happy for the young boy too. And finally, he held the ring in his hand and smiled. It was a beautiful thing. His girlfriend would love it. He couldn’t think of anything else. Right there, he was the happiest teenager in the world.
A week later, his girlfriend came home. They were really happy to be with each other again, and had missed each other terribly. She had no idea about his job or the ring he had bought for her. That thought made him feel all the more excited. The next night, he took her out to dinner. It was an expensive restaurant with tables spread out in a garden. And after the end of the meal, the young teenage boy got down on his knees in front of the girl. The girl had no idea what he was doing, really, 17 year olds don’t go down on one knee.
As he rested on one knee, he read out a handwritten love letter with intentionally faded and carefully burnt edges. It was a beautiful love letter. The girl smiled. The boy slipped his hand into his coat pocket. And out of it emerged an elegant shiny box with blue ribbons. The girl looked surprised. She would never have assumed it would be a ring. Rings are expensive, everyone knows that.
When she opened the little box, her eyes widened and the beautiful stone reflected in her eyes. She was shocked and so full of surprise. She fumbled for happy words and affirmative responses as he asked her to marry him, not soon, but someday, because she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
She smiled and her face glowed with happiness and love. She loved the boy so much, and could never have imagined that he’d be working all summer to buy a ring for her.
But right at that moment, all the boy cared about was her beautiful smile. When he did see her beautiful smile, he remembered all the hard work and effort he had to endure for three months. But then, right then, at the very moment, he was completely convinced that it was all worth it, just to bring a happy smile on her face.
Understanding unconditional love
Unconditional love is hard to explain. It’s something that has to be understood and experienced. If you can give up on your wants and yet feel happier, just watching your lover happy, then that’s unconditional love.
If you can selflessly love someone else, not to get something back in return, but to genuinely make someone else happy, that’s unconditional love.
What the boy did for the girl may seem crazy to many, but to the boy, all that mattered was not his sacrifices during the entire vacation, but the happiness that his effort brought to his lover in that one instant.
If that isn’t unconditional love, what is?!
Magic Moments
You may not have noticed this, but I believe that there are always life-altering moments in every single person’s life.
And more often than not, it’s the little things and little decisions that bring about a great change.
And one thing that’s funnier than all of this put together is that, the biggest changes in life usually happen when the past merges with the present.
I’m talking about get-togethers, bumping into old school friends, and other things that run along those lines.
The pursuits of my young life
When I was a young boy, I wanted to be a big tough guy.
And by the time I was in college, I wanted to be the richest guy in the world.
And finally when I was done with formal education, I had decided to make some money. I unclogged all the empty dreams in my head and worked hard towards my real dream. Making money.
To me, at that point of time, it sounded like a master-crafted idea. Really, who would ever think of money, everyone I knew wanted job satisfaction.
I would be the only guy who thought of money more than anything else, so maybe, just maybe I would be able to grow money on trees, while the rest of the world sold their Ferraris, converted into monks, took a year off to eat, pray and love, look within, or just search for job satisfaction in architecture like Howard Roark.
Now, a decade later, I know how wrong I was.
An encounter with the ghosts of my past and future
I did manage to do what I wanted to do best. Make money. But along the way, I had lost everything that mattered most to me a good decade ago. I didn’t have friends, I had business associates. I didn’t have free time, I played golf and spoke business. I didn’t take off on vacations. I just travelled the world on business prospects. I had become the one thing I was afraid of becoming.
I was a man who didn’t know to draw the line between fun, games, and work. I still don’t know how to sort my life and its different aspects. My work is my life and my life, my work.
Six months ago, I had a panic attack when I sat out on the balcony of my hotel, after a long strenuous business meeting. My mind was so full of thoughts, it was driving me insane. I could barely hold on to the cigarette in my hand, and I felt faintish. My heart ached, and my lungs couldn’t take in any more air. I was fine in a minute, but that shook me up. I may have consumed a few doubles of alcohol, but I was totally consumed by work. I needed to change my life, before I lost it all. I had no personal life. I had no friends. I had achieved my dreams, and lost everything else that ever mattered.
I wanted my friends back. I felt like Ebenezer Scrooge from ‘A Christmas Carol’. The ghosts of my past and my future had knocked on my door, in its own way.
The day I got back home, I made a couple of calls to the few friends who had still decided to keep in touch with me. Thank God for that! And I asked them if they wanted to meet up. At first they were shocked to hear that I wanted to meet up, but then, the plans were on in full swing. We chatted over the phone like little school kids, and our conversations, as with every man stuck with his old friends, were lewd and crude.
The excitement of a reunion
The guys took up the rest of the planning and decided to call in eight of our BFF buddies back from school for a reunion of sorts. I couldn’t recollect it at that point, but we did have a close knit group of friends back then, there were nine of us in all, and we used to have a great time, all the time.
As I lay in bed, I remembered all our young enthusiastic faces on the day of graduation. We hugged each other and I made everyone promise that we’d always keep in touch.
It took me almost ten minutes to even recollect all the names of the eight other people in my group. How ironic, isn’t it? It disgusted me.
We had decided to meet up that Saturday night, and that thought excited me. I was quite certain that I was the most excited of them all. They didn’t know how much this meeting, I mean, get-together, meant to me. It felt like my personal Last Supper. I was so scared to die all alone. Stupid thought though, I was still 30 and exercised six days a week. I missed my friends and I missed the hours of idle chatter and laughter. I was sick of being uptight and held back all the time. I hated being on guard. I was sick of chasing money. I just wanted to be free, and not be judged. And only my old friends could help me there.
I dragged on through the week, kept busy by work and other uptight meetings with associates. But deep inside, I wanted the week to just fly past, and I wanted to get away, even if it was just for a night. Finally, after a long drawl, Saturday evening finally arrived.
Reclaiming my lost life
I kicked off my boots, flung away my suit, and had a long, cold shower. And for the first time in years, wore a simple tee and blue jeans. It had been close to a decade and a half since I had even given all my friends a second thought. I had no photos, no scrapbooks, no facebook account, nothing. I had erased my past because I wanted nothing to do with it. That thought made me feel like shit.
I left my lonely house early, I had no dog to say bye to. Just the flicker of the boobtube going blank announced my exit. I got to the restaurant on time. I had made sure we’d go to this restaurant, the same one in which we used to hang out on Saturdays, when we were in school. A little, shabby joint that was the best place in the world for me, back then. I walked in and asked about the reservation. It wasn’t necessary, there was no such thing as reserving tables in this restaurant. I looked all around the restaurant, and I panicked.
Was I not able to recognize them?
And then, I felt a sharp searing pain on my back. And then I saw a face that I longed for. A friend! A friend that I truly recognized. “Jon, you bastard…” Sam yelled out.
“Asshole, how the hell are you, dude…” I blurted out, without giving barbarism a second thought. We hugged each other, and for the first time in a long time, I felt the warmth of a real friend’s hug.
“They’re all on the way, buddy… they’re coming together. Shaun and Ali are picking them up.”
“That’s cool…” I replied, without thinking much. It felt good to see even one of them. He obviously had no idea how much even seeing him meant to me. We sat down in a huge table and ordered for beers. It had been a while since I had tasted beer.
We started speaking and soon, we were lost in a conversation. It felt like hardly a minute or two had passed by, it was actually half an hour, when I heard a huge outcry of people calling out my name. Faces, faces, and more new faces. And faces that slowly transformed into ones that I recognized, and knew well. Something erupted within me, sheer happiness and joy, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and my throat went dry. I had a hard time swallowing, as each of them ran up and threw themselves in my arms. It had been so long. And I had been such an idiot.
There was Shaun, Sam, Richard, Ali, Kimberly, Mary, and Brittany. They all looked the same, just older. Even today, I wouldn’t be able to explain the emotions that overwhelmed me that evening.
“Tanya’s on her way, she’s held up with something…” Kimberly spoke out to no one in particular.
A tingle of romance in all the friendship
I got to know so much about my old friends in those hours, minutes or probably seconds that we sat together. Some of them were married, some even had babies, and one of them was engaged, due to get married the next month. I had been too busy to give a damn and they had given up on me anyway. But now, I wanted them around me more than anything else.
The rest of my friends were in touch with each other, and knew everything. Apparently, all of them made it a point to meet at least once a month. They had stuck by the promise I made for them. I felt slightly nauseated, and very guilty. I looked away, without anyone noticing it.
Sometime later, a pretty girl walked in and waved out, straight at us. Everyone waved back, but me.
“Jon… Omigawd… you look so different!”
I looked at her, stifling my incomprehension, and then it hit me. It was Tanya. Without her braces. Without her pig tails. Without her huge outrageous earrings. This Tanya was gorgeous. This Tanya had long, beautiful hair. This Tanya drew the air out of the enclosed space. And this Tanya actually called me by my name. I couldn’t remember a time when she had addressed me by any other term but ‘Idiot’. I smiled back as wide as I could. Words hardly had any significance at moments like these. We hugged tight and started laughing at each other. [Read: What guys always notice in a girl]
“Idiot, you look so bloody different. And look at you, didn’t bother to keep in touch with us, did you?”
“Tanya… why… I’m sorry… Gosh, you look so different…”
“Whatever, idiot… Okay, hope you guys ordered my drink…”
Everything was so confusing to me when Tanya walked in. I had given up all of what I was experiencing in the pursuit of happiness, and yet, I felt more happy sitting with all my school friends who made no big deal about meeting up. I had actually let all my happiness drift away, and ran in pursuit of something that I thought would be the only way to achieve happiness.
Tanya sat down next to me, and her hands were on my shoulder the whole time. She didn’t think too much about it, but I did. I didn’t know why. It felt weird. [Read: How to meet the one]
The start of a romantic love story
A hug was one thing, but Tanya’s hands on my shoulder made me feel uncomfortably happy. We sat down until late night and there wasn’t a moment when there was silence. The dinners I remembered were sober, quiet experiences with occasional toasts and happy talks laced with ego. Here, there was no ego, it was frank, and brutal at times.
I was laughing so much my jaws were hurting. I exchanged numbers with everyone, and we decided to meet up the next weekend. I didn’t want to be too enthusiastic in bringing that line up, even though my heart ached to let them go. I had let them down once before. This time, I wanted to be the mute acceptor, one who would keep his promise. Soon, everyone had to get back, and I bearhugged every one of them.
“Richard, drop me to my place. I didn’t get my car, I caught a cab” Tanya snapped out at Richard.
I don’t know how that happened to me, but I blurted out, “Hey, I’ll drop you, it’s cool. I’ve got nothing to do.”
“Ok…ay… If you really say so…” and she just flashed a cute smile at me. The guys smiled at me too. Maybe they knew there was something more than just stale beer in the air.
I hadn’t seen a girl smile that way at me. Nor had I ever felt my heart skip a beat before. I was so happy and intoxicated by their company, and yet, Tanya’s presence was doing more damage than all the others. All of us hugged each other one more time, and Tanya and I got into my car. We spoke all along the way, and soon, we got to her place. I just looked at her, obviously she wouldn’t ask me to come up, I thought. She didn’t.
“Are you busy?” she asked without preamble.
“What do you mean…?”
“Well, it’s been a while, and I’m free tomorrow, so I wanted to know if we can catch up. The other guys are all dating or hitched on Sundays, and I’m not… so… you free tomorrow? Hey, wait a minute, are you busy with your girlfriend or something?”
“No… no girlfriend!” I stammered back, I didn’t know why I was stammering. I felt so out of control with her. I was always the one in control all the time. Until that moment.
“All right then, I’ll come over to your place tomorrow…” she said, as she got off the car.
I stepped out too, and walked up to her. We hugged long, and I looked at her. She looked back at me. It didn’t feel like we were friends anymore. The air was crackling with something I couldn’t explain.
“I really missed you all these years. Even though I never realized it,” I said as I looked into her eyes, “… and you look so very beautiful.”
And at that point, I swear to God, even in the dark, I could see her cheeks go pink. She was blushing! She slapped my face lightly, and her hands took their time to slide away from my cheek. “Idiot…” she smiled. Her smile was infectious. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
The magic moments of experiencing love
I drove back home, with a mad vigor that I couldn’t understand. I was ecstatic. I was beaming at just about anyone who looked my way. I even smiled wildly at a cop at a traffic stop like an idiot. Was I in love? Was it my friends? Or was it Tanya? Or is this what true happiness felt like? I didn’t know. Frankly, I didn’t care. I just lay in bed and stared at the blank space above me. My jaws hurt. I closed my mouth. I was smiling the entire way back home. The thought of Tanya’s smile still lingered in my mind.
I woke up early the next morning, I hardly slept that night, coming to think of it now. I called Tanya up, spoke to her about nothing in particular for a couple of hours, and then, we decided that she’d come over to my place.
An hour later, she was home. In my place.
She really did have something that sucked all the light out the room. She was positively glowing, radiating like Claire Danes in Stardust. And she looked beautiful. All of a sudden, all my expensive chandeliers looked meek in front of this glorious aura that filled up every corner of the room with a sense of happiness I had never known. Even my décor seemed to behave that way, everything looked a lot better around her.
I smiled at her. She smiled back instantly. Her smile was captivating, spontaneous, and yet, so true. And definitely infectious.
We sat down in front of the television and spoke for hours. We ordered pizzas and spent the entire afternoon at home. She told me about her job and about her exes. And I spoke about mine. I kept the descriptions of my life short. Actually, there wasn’t much to tell her anyways.
It was late in the afternoon, and the sun shone lazily through the thick glass panels that made up one side of my living room.
The cold glass had always reflected how I felt about my life, cold, hard and impenetrable. But today, as we leaned against it together and stared at the setting sun, it felt warm. I could have stood there forever, watching the sun set, and birds take their final flight for the day. I looked at Tanya, she looked back. And smiled. I guess she knew I liked her, but she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it.
[Read: How to date a friend]
“You look so beautiful, Tanya…”
She smiled again. “Why Jon, thank you!” she laughed back with a mock curtsy.
“Let’s watch a movie, okay, I have a few good ones.”
“Sure…” she smiled again.
I couldn’t understand what was happening. I was with someone that I had avoided for the past decade, and here I was, falling for her in an instant. She was mesmerizing and captivating, she was beautiful and stunning, synonyms and rhymes made no justice to the aura she infused into the air.
She picked the movie, “The Holiday”. I hadn’t seen it. She hadn’t either. I pulled the curtains shut and dimmed the lights.
The movie was great, and somewhere in the movie, there was this point when Jude Law and Cameron Diaz realize they’re in love with each other. I remember that because it was around that point when our fingers touched. I didn’t know what to do, pull back or be brave. She didn’t do anything either. But I could sense the infusion of discomfort and felicity tingling at the point where our fingers touched. She felt it too. We were both very rigid.

Magical moments and the blurry moments
A good ten minutes passed. Silence. The movie was blurred in my mind. I couldn’t focus. I can’t remember breathing. But I felt something within me. And the feeling was intense. I wanted to hold Tanya in my arms.
Have you come across times in your life when you want to do something and the next instant, everything’s a blur and you’re doing what you wanted to do, irrespective of the consequences? This was my time.
I didn’t think, but I turned to face Tanya. She looked at me. Her eyes were saying something, but I was too lost to read it. I slid my hand away from hers. She looked confused now. The next instant, I wrapped it around her. So many flashes of thoughts flickered through my mind in that span of hardly a second or two. So many emotions ran through my veins, like never before. But when I hugged Tanya, everything disappeared. It was bliss. I was in heaven, lost somewhere in time and in space that was warm and so full of love. I felt her hands move gingerly across my back, softly and purposefully, until it reached a point where it stayed firmly still.
Time was such a lousy consideration here. Nothing in the world was a consideration anymore. Nothing mattered anymore. Just her. And me.
Her hands slid down, and as if on cue, I did the same. And then, she clasped my hands and looked into my eyes. I stared back, trying to read what she wanted me to know. She smiled, as if she knew what I was thinking. She kissed my cheek.
[Read: My Embarrassing first kiss story]
It left a cold, and yet, burning spot on my face. I wanted to feel that forever. I ran my fingers through her soft hair, they felt like strands of fine silk, and smelt of cinnamon. We didn’t speak. But we didn’t stop communicating. There was something in the air. And it was magical.
